Automation: AI that works while you sleep
Put AI on a schedule or a trigger: every Monday, every new invoice, every form submission. This is where hours come back.
Two ways to automate:
- Inside your assistant. ChatGPT Work can run scheduled tasks and event-triggered tasks (for example on new Gmail or Slack messages). Claude can repeat a report every Monday.
- With a workflow tool such as Make, n8n or Zapier, which connect thousands of apps. Make's own guidance is useful: use plain automation for predictable, structured steps (billing runs, record updates, notifications) and an AI agent step where the input is messy and needs judgement (triaging support tickets, qualifying leads, reading invoices).
Good first automations: a weekly summary of your inbox, a form that files requests into a sheet and drafts replies, a daily digest of competitor news.
Keep a human approval step on anything that sends, pays or deletes.
