Google launches a single Gemini agent for work

8 Oct 2026

One agent inside Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Chat and Calendar that can take an objective, plan the work and come back with something finished.

Google announced the Gemini agent at Gemini at Work 2026. Teams can also create coworker agents with their own Workspace account, email and calendar, which only see what you share with them. For finance chiefs, Google added real-time spend caps that pause an agent when a project's AI budget is reached. In our region, Google says DBS Bank runs chains of 70 to 80 specialised agents to prepare corporate credit memos, with humans kept in the loop.
